When we can see where we are going, we are not alarmed at the obstacles because we see them coming. If we have direction, our navigation of reaching the destination is marked out ahead of time. When we know the plan, it gives us a sense of what we will accomplish. All this relates back to our attitudes.
It is easier to have a positive attitude when the path is laid out for us to see. So have you ever wondered why our attitudes remain distinctly below average even when we have vision? A lot has to do with how we embrace what God has for us, and how well we accept the challenge. Acceptance is after all how we become Christians in the 1st place. Trusting what Jesus did on the cross for each of us, trusting what He did during those three days before He rose from the dead, and trusting what He is going to do for us when He comes back to get us.
We have the final plan laid out in front of us…just not all the steps we take in the mean time. So in order to figure out where we are headed we look out ahead to where we are going. HEAVEN! This is a must we do what we do…we need to remember who we are going to be face to face with, we need to stay focused on our mission here at CSFBC.
Being part of this church is to be part of God’s plans for Cambridge Springs…being part of this church means being a servant entrusted with divine blue prints. In architecture, strength and longevity rest in the framing and foundation of a building. Jesus himself is our foundation. He has built into us the strength of His word, the framework to turn people heavenward instead of hell bound. He has givenus place to create High Definition Disciples, the ones like a 1080 pixel television. They take your breath away when you see their action from hearing God’s word! Your talking 7.0 surround sound. The quality is so great you can’t help but hear every little detail.
Let our attitudes match the joy we have in Christ Jesus, for His vision for us is large enough to encompass us all, but intimate enough to touch each person. Our joyful attitudes should be contagious enough to infect the entire community with an epidemic of God’s love and truth. Leading us into the aged of discipled action.
Ephesians 2:6-10
And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Looking Forward and Heavenward,
Pastor Daren
